We strongly believe that swimming is a safe activity with our covid-safety precautions. But don’t just take our word for it. People much cleverer than us believe that chlorine kills (or inactivates) the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said: “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of recreational waters.”, and The Pool Water Treatment and Advisory Group (PWTAG) said: “Public health opinion is that it is generally safe to go swimming at this time. Water and the chlorine within swimming pools will help to kill the virus.” Even with the super covid-killing chlorine, we have reduced the number of swimmers in the water to allow children to be socially distant in their lessons. Our instructors have all completed COVID training for aquatic environments, so they know what to do.

In the water

What we are doing…

  • Stages 5+, our instructors will be teaching out of the water.
  • Stages 1-4 have reduced class numbers (just 3 in our stage 1 sessions)
  • Our instructors won’t be able to be as “hands on” as they usually are and will remain at a distance of 2 metres.
  • Sanitising all equipment will be done prior to use.

What you need to do…

  • All swimmers to follow instructions from staff.
  • All swimmers to stay near their “swimming spot” to maintain social distance in the water.
  • Spectators need to remain seated on poolside, and keep a safe distance from others.

Out of the water

What we are doing…

  • Staggered lesson times to ensure there aren’t very many people in the changing rooms.
  • Cleaning – lots! – and have invested in fancy, Covid-19 killing disinfectant fogging.
  • Set up a Covid-19 safe procedures which are constantly monitored.
  • All staff have undergone Covid-19 safety training.

What you need to do…

  • Follow our Covid procedures
  • Only one adult to accompany swimmers and leave siblings at home (unless they have a lesson, too!)
  • Using hand sanitiser at key points.
  •  Come to lessons wearing your swimwear.
  • Parents to wear masks (unless exempt).
  •  Maintain social distance at all times.
  •  Inform us of any changes to your health questionnaire (below).
  • Use our sanitising spray in the changing areas.
  • Scan our barcode for track and trace.
